During the week, Tim Fredricks is an Environmental Engagement Manager with Bayer Crop Science where he has the opportunity to participate on the Honey Bee Health Coalition and work at the intersection of agriculture, pollinators, and habitat conservation. In his spare time, he manages 30-40 hives in St. Charles county MO primarily for honey, queen, wax, and nucleus colony production, is raising 3 young girls, gardens for produce and native habitat plantings, has a flock of chickens and ducks, taps for maple/walnut sap, enjoys most outdoor activities but most importantly is married to Kristin who supports most of these endeavors. Over the past 10 beekeeping years, Tim has developed a passion for science based hive management decisions, actively managing varroa mites, the state fair apiculture competition, and experimenting with beekeeping techniques.
