Learn How to Keep Bees

This one-day IN PERSON CLASS is a great way for those beginners who are interested in sustaining or contributing to the development of the local honey bee population.  Join us and learn from experienced beekeepers about the fascinating honey bee, how to start your own beehive, and how to manage the average honey bee lifecycle.

You’ll also be invited to join Three Rivers Beekeepers, at no charge, for ongoing education and mentoring if you want to manage your own hive or cultivate honey.

Attendees will be provided with lunch and refreshments, and their own copy of the renowned “Beekeeper’s Handbook” by Sammataro and Avitabile.  They will also qualify for numerous door prizes including a nucleus colony and a complete, assembled hive ready for bees!

• Obtaining and Installing Honey Bees
• Inspecting and Managing the Hives
• Solving Common Beekeeping Problems
• Preparing Your Hives for Honey Collection
