Their platform honeybee vaccine technology uses transgenerational immune priming, allowing the maternal animal to pass immune modulators (e.g., antigens, anti-microbial molecules) to the next generation larvae before they hatch. Amy manages beekeeper relations at Dalan Animal Health, teaching beekeepers across North America how to integrate the vaccine into their operations. Her passion lies in forging strong partnerships with beekeepers, where she collaborates to learn from them and also share knowledge about our technology. Prior to joining Dalan, Amy spent 7 years at the USDA investigating honeybee nutrition, microbiomes, pathogens, and toxin exposure. She holds a BS in Wildlife Conservation and Management, as well as an MS in Entomology, both from the University of Arizona. Outside of work, Amy explores the US in her self-converted camper van with her dog, Miles, and tends to her own honeybee hives.
