Joey Bordelon carries on a remarkable fourth-generation beekeeping legacy that has flourished in Plaucheville, Louisiana for over a century. Growing up among the hives, he developed a deep respect for honeybees and the essential role they play in our ecosystem. Today, Joey applies the traditional methods passed down through generations while embracing modern, sustainable apiary management. His colonels feature Minnesota Hygienic queen bees known for their honey production, gentleness, brood-rearing viability, and strong ability to overwinter heathy and heavy. He is passionate about education and enjoys sharing his wealth of knowledge-combining historical context with practical expertise-to inspire the next generation of beekeepers.
