Meet Christy, an educator at heart who has spent the last 7 years managing bees with her husband, Terry. This spring, Christy took on a brand-new challenge: mastering Layens hives to ensure she can serve as an effective mentor for club members exploring alternative hive styles. Both of her Layens colonies came from swarm recoveries—and she has an incredible queen story to share!

Christy loves the calm, peaceful energy of a busy hive, but she also loves an educational outlet. She noticed a common gap for new folks: “As a club we offer an outstanding Beginning Beekeeping Workshop but when summer comes along many beginners might have questions about what do I do now.”

Join us as Christy breaks down the exact tasks of a beekeeper from June through early autumn. Get ready to take notes and keep those summer bees happy!
